Hello! I've shared a couple of DIYs with you guys before (you can check one of those out here). I've got another to share with you today. This one was inspired by a video that I saw AndreasChoice do on YouTube which I will insert below. It has tons of ideas on what to use the candle jars for if this one isn't up your alley. Personally, I use cotton in a lot of different forms when I'm getting ready and getting unready. The bags that hold cotton balls and cotton pads just get in my way, and I've never found a good place for the box of cotton swabs that I need on hand for any makeup mistakes (aka when the wings of my eyeliner are uneven or I sneeze right after putting my mascara on). When I saw her talking about repurposing her candle jars, I thought this was just the solution I needed for that problem. I've now got a place to hold all the cotton products that I normally need on a daily basis. My bathroom is definitely looking a lot cleaner and more organized. Another bright side, my cotton products actually smell like the candle scent even though the jar doesn't smell that way anymore. I'll talk about some steps for cleaning out your candle jar below. Hope you enjoy!

  1. After you've burned your candle out, put it in the freezer. I left mine in there for about 3 hours.
  2. Get a knife, and start digging out pieces of the wax. Because you froze it, it should crack pretty easily. Have some towels on hand because this part does get a bit messy.
  3. Give your jar a good rinse to get any remaining wax out. I ran the water as hot as I could get it, and then scrubbed the jar to remove the nasty black marks from when you burned it. The hot water also loosens the labels up enough for you to remove them.
  4. Pull the wicks out. They are just glued down there, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
  5. This is where it gets tricky. I couldn't get the glue residue out just by scrubbing. I ran my jar through the dishwasher, and that didn't work either. My mom was reading an article about how many different cleaning uses Coca Cola has, and she had the bright idea to put some in the jar. That is what finally did the trick for us getting the glue completely washed out.
Here are some other ideas for your candle graveyard…

Hope this got you inspired! I'm already excited to finish burning my next candle, and turn it into something else. If you do anything like this, I would love to see it!

Since this is almost my last Saturday living in my current dorm room, I wanted to share with you how I have one wall of it decorated. I took the same vibe as the giant picture collage in my room which you can see here! I just love having lots of pictures up and lots of things to look at. At home, I used pictures of me and my friends. In this one, I decided to use magazine pages because I already have a ton of personal pictures up everywhere else (including the whole side of my roommates giant dresser). Not only does that make the wall super diverse, it also makes it really easy to change. Every time I have a new magazine, I change things on my wall. I choose quotes and titles that I like, and pictures of celebrities, shoes, or clothing that I like. I just use sticky tack to put it up. I'm absolutely obsessed with how it looks. For some reason, it reminds me of a Tumblr archive which I love! I know this is super simple, but I really makes a huge difference. It makes it feel homey when you are surrounded by things that you like. That wall spans the length of my bed. The picture below is the wall behind my bed, and then the bottom is just a picture of my super cluttered desk. I give you a run down of the things in the pictures and how they are hanging in the captions. Hope some of this will give you some ideas for any room you need to decorate soon!

All of this was cut out of magazines (except the posters) and hung up with sticky tack.
We were allowed to use push pins on this wall, so all of this is hung up that way. I made the glitter British
flag myself, and my big sister in my club made the collage. The license plate is from my first car that
got totaled. I like to have it to remind me that the Lord is always watching out for me and to
remember the kindness of the people who helped me that day.
The pictures in the back are just paper clipped onto ribbons which are help up by magnets.
Everything else is pretty self explanatory. Lots of fish supplies in this area...
Hope you liked this! What is your favorite part of your room decor?

Hey guys! I'm back with another DIY project. I have my dorm wall covered in pictures, and I will be sharing that with you all soon. This is the very first thing besides my posters that went on to the wall.
The thought of doing this never even crossed my mind until I saw the map in a local restaurant. They have maps in gas stations, and they are printable online. It should be pretty easy I find one for your area even if it's just your state. I got my sharpies out and went to work. I started off with tracing the words. I think these kinds of things look coolest when you choose a few words to highlight, so I chose home and heart. After I finished that, I just found my city and drew a little heart over it. It is super easy to make, and it turns out so cute! It's definitely perfect for any college kid whose a little homesick.

If anybody makes anything like this, I would love to see it!
