Hello! I've shared a couple of DIYs with you guys before (you can check one of those out here). I've got another to share with you today. This one was inspired by a video that I saw AndreasChoice do on YouTube which I will insert below. It has tons of ideas on what to use the candle jars for if this one isn't up your alley. Personally, I use cotton in a lot of different forms when I'm getting ready and getting unready. The bags that hold cotton balls and cotton pads just get in my way, and I've never found a good place for the box of cotton swabs that I need on hand for any makeup mistakes (aka when the wings of my eyeliner are uneven or I sneeze right after putting my mascara on). When I saw her talking about repurposing her candle jars, I thought this was just the solution I needed for that problem. I've now got a place to hold all the cotton products that I normally need on a daily basis. My bathroom is definitely looking a lot cleaner and more organized. Another bright side, my cotton products actually smell like the candle scent even though the jar doesn't smell that way anymore. I'll talk about some steps for cleaning out your candle jar below. Hope you enjoy!

  1. After you've burned your candle out, put it in the freezer. I left mine in there for about 3 hours.
  2. Get a knife, and start digging out pieces of the wax. Because you froze it, it should crack pretty easily. Have some towels on hand because this part does get a bit messy.
  3. Give your jar a good rinse to get any remaining wax out. I ran the water as hot as I could get it, and then scrubbed the jar to remove the nasty black marks from when you burned it. The hot water also loosens the labels up enough for you to remove them.
  4. Pull the wicks out. They are just glued down there, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
  5. This is where it gets tricky. I couldn't get the glue residue out just by scrubbing. I ran my jar through the dishwasher, and that didn't work either. My mom was reading an article about how many different cleaning uses Coca Cola has, and she had the bright idea to put some in the jar. That is what finally did the trick for us getting the glue completely washed out.
Here are some other ideas for your candle graveyard…

Hope this got you inspired! I'm already excited to finish burning my next candle, and turn it into something else. If you do anything like this, I would love to see it!

Since this is almost my last Saturday living in my current dorm room, I wanted to share with you how I have one wall of it decorated. I took the same vibe as the giant picture collage in my room which you can see here! I just love having lots of pictures up and lots of things to look at. At home, I used pictures of me and my friends. In this one, I decided to use magazine pages because I already have a ton of personal pictures up everywhere else (including the whole side of my roommates giant dresser). Not only does that make the wall super diverse, it also makes it really easy to change. Every time I have a new magazine, I change things on my wall. I choose quotes and titles that I like, and pictures of celebrities, shoes, or clothing that I like. I just use sticky tack to put it up. I'm absolutely obsessed with how it looks. For some reason, it reminds me of a Tumblr archive which I love! I know this is super simple, but I really makes a huge difference. It makes it feel homey when you are surrounded by things that you like. That wall spans the length of my bed. The picture below is the wall behind my bed, and then the bottom is just a picture of my super cluttered desk. I give you a run down of the things in the pictures and how they are hanging in the captions. Hope some of this will give you some ideas for any room you need to decorate soon!

All of this was cut out of magazines (except the posters) and hung up with sticky tack.
We were allowed to use push pins on this wall, so all of this is hung up that way. I made the glitter British
flag myself, and my big sister in my club made the collage. The license plate is from my first car that
got totaled. I like to have it to remind me that the Lord is always watching out for me and to
remember the kindness of the people who helped me that day.
The pictures in the back are just paper clipped onto ribbons which are help up by magnets.
Everything else is pretty self explanatory. Lots of fish supplies in this area...
Hope you liked this! What is your favorite part of your room decor?

While I am home, I wanted to share how I have displayed the pictures in my room. I plan to share my dorm room wall whenever I have finished putting all the pictures up. Anyways, I'm the kind of person who loves pictures. A printed picture is just so much better to me than one on a computer. Also, I'm the kind of person who loves to fill up wall space. If there is an open spot, I want to find something for it. Put those two things together, and you get a giant collage in my dorm room and at home. I'm really pleased with the way the one at home turned out, so I thought I would share that one first.

I saw something like this online somewhere and became obsessed with the idea. I think this is a precious way to display tons of pictures of your closest friends or your favorite celebrities. I have a good mixture of both on mine. All I needed was some twine, push pins, paper clips, poster board, glitter letters, scrapbooking paper, and the pictures of course. I picked up everything but the glitter letters at Target. I got the letters at Michael's, and I printed the pictures at CVS where it only like 25 cents a photo. Also, I ripped a ton of things out of magazines which is where a lot of the celebrity things came from.
I started by putting a big square up with the twine and push pins. I put up 2 rows of string on the sides, to help the pictures hang straight. I filled the outer square with pictures first. After choosing my pictures, I just attached them with the paperclips that I had bought.
For the inside, I started with the poster board heart. I would suggest using a poster rather than trying to stick the letters to the wall. They fell off the wall after a day when I tried that. I decided to hot glue them to the poster board to make sure they stayed up this time. You can pick any phrase you like that you feel applies to the pictures you are going to put up. I do love the one I chose as all the people on my wall certainly light up my world. All the pictures in the middle are taped to different pieces of scrapbook paper which I cut to fit the area I needed it in. It leaves a cute pattern peeking through, and you get to use less push pins.
In all it's glory!
I've had it up for about 6 months, and it is still going strong. I get more obsessed with it every time I come home, and it is probably my favorite thing to look at in my house. I hope this gives you some room inspiration. I will hopefully have the dorm one up soon! What is your favorite way to hang pictures?
